The Lemuriya Foundation based in Thane, Maharashtra, has reached out to the Tamil Nadu Government to offer online Tamil language classes to children living in Maharashtra, Mumbai in particular.
The Director of the Tamil Virtual Academy (formerly known as Tamil Virtual University-TVU) has approved two centres in Mumbai – one in Dharavi and the other in Bhandup.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the Tamil Virtual Academy and the Lemuriya Foundation.
Classes will begin soon, allowing students to learn their mother tongue Tamil. Certificates will be issued by TVU on completion of studies.
In addition to promoting the Tamil language, the Lemuriya Foundation works to improve education and healthcare for underprivileged communities.
